Szumanski Set to Compete in Finals of ITA Regionals

LUBBOCK, Texas - Sophomore Bojan Szumanski of the Texas Tech men's tennis team won his semifinal match this morning to advance to the finals of the Wilson/ITA Men's South Central Championships.
Szumanski defeated Jerry Makowski (Texas A&M), 6-3, 6-4, in the semifinal round and will now take on Lars Porschke (Baylor) in the championship match today at either 1 p.m. or 2 p.m. Szumanski becomes the first Red Raider to advance to the finals of the ITA Regionals.
Szumanski and Porschke have now qualified for the 2004 ITA National Indoor Championships Nov. 4-7 in Ann Arbor, Mich.
