TOPEKA, Kan. - The Texas Tech women's soccer team was defeated by the Kansas Jayhawks, 5-0, tonight at an indoor facility in Topeka, Kan. The game was moved indoors earlier today due to possible inclement weather.
The Jayhawk offense proved to be too much for the Red Raiders as five different Kansas players scored goals on the Tech goalkeeping staff. The Tech offense was out shot 24-6 as the Red Raiders posted three shots on goal by Jenifer Thomas, Jenna Wetzel and Allison Seifert.
Freshman Tina Rincon and Juniors Megan Knauss and Beth Lippert all saw action in goal this evening. Rincon got the start in goal for Tech and made five saves while allowing two goals. Lippert replaced Rincon and made three saves while allowing three goals. Knauss then replaced Lippert, as she tallied just over 12 minutes play without facing a shot.
The Red Raiders return to the pitch Sun., Oct. 3, at 1 p.m. in Ames, Iowa, to take on the Cyclones of Iowa State.
