HOUSTON, Texas - Player representatives from both Texas Tech and the U.S. Naval Academy took time to visit hospitalized children this morning as they visited Memorial Children's Hospital here in Houston.
The players spent close to two-and-a-half hours at the hospital where they visited two floors and the LifeFlight area. The teams handed out various gifts from each school and were eagerly accepted by the children.
"Coming to this hospital really puts things into focus," said redshirt wide receiver Thomas Bachman. "We have been having a great time at this bowl but seeing these kids in this situation lets each of us know that football is really not important. It was good to get to spend some time with these kids and help spread a little good humor."
Texas Tech will take on Navy at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 30th in the Fourth Annual Houston Bowl at Reliant Stadium. Tickets for the game are still on sale and can be purchased through the Tech Athletic Ticket office that has a bowl location being headquartered at the J.W. Marriott Hotel. The number to call is (713) 961-1500 and ask for the Texas Tech Bowl Ticket Office.
