
Raiders Face Hawkeyes Monday Evening in Dallas

Lubbock, TX - The Texas Tech Red Raiders (9-2) face the Hawkeyes of the University of Iowa (6-1) on Monday evening at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas in the O'Reilly Christmas Classic. Tip-off will be at 8:00 p.m.
The last time Iowa and Texas Tech met was December 8, 1984 with the Hawkeyes winning 58-48 in Lubbock. The Hawkeyes lead the series 3-0. The series began on December 13, 1958 with a home Hawkeye win, 75-73. Game Two of the series was played on December 12, 1959 and resulted in an away win for the Hawkeyes, 76-66.

All-American candidate Andre Emmett has 1,789 career points and is now fourth on the Texas Tech All- Time Scoring List. Andre's 19 points against San Diego State on December 13 moved him past Lance Hughes's 1,762 career points. Rick Bullock leads all Texas Tech players with 2,118 points.
Junior guard Ronald Ross scored a career high of 16 points against San Diego State on 12/13/03. Against Sam Houston State (12/17/03) he scored 21 points in the first half in which he played 11 minutes. Ronald was 9-of-12 from the field (including 2-of-2 from beyond the three-point line) and 1-for-1 from the free throw line. He finished off the first half with 4 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 steal. For the game, he tallied 24 points (his new career high), shot 10-of-15 from the floor (3-of-3 from three-point territory), had 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 turnover, and 4 steals in 17 minutes of playing time.
The Raiders are averaging 11.6 grabs per game. Six players (Giles, Jackson, Emmett, Ross, Tomaszek, and Mikey Marshall)have at least 11 steals each. Jay Jackson leads the squad with 28 thefts over eleven games.
