
Tech Men's Tennis Finish Final Day of Tournament

MIDLAND, Texas - The Texas Tech men's tennis team finished the final day of competition in Midland at the Midland Invitational. Freshman Dimitrio Martinez advanced through the semifinals to the finals in the consolation bracket, but fell short of a finals victory.
In the semifinals, Martinez defeated Chris Surapol (UCLA), 7-5, 6-4, to advance to the finals, where he was defeated by Will Clinton (Texas), 6-4, 6-4. "It was a great weekend for Dimitrio," stated head coach Tim Siegel. "This will certainly help him for the regionals next weekend. He has done extremely well for having only been here two months."
The Raiders head to Fort Worth next weekend, Oct. 24-26, to compete in the ITA Regionals..
