No. 39 Men's Golf In Eighth After Two Rounds

LUBBOCK, Texas - The No. 39 Men's golf team is in eighth place at the Duke Golf Classic in Durham, N.C., after the team carded a day one score of 598 (298,300). Team enters day two within 13 strokes of top five.
Sophomore Erik Stenman leads the team with a 36-hole score of 147 (74,73), tying for 19th. Sophomore Andrew Dresser and freshman Oscar Floren enter the final round tied for 43rd with Dresser shooting a 79 in round one, improving six strokes to a 73 second round score. Floren shot a first round 72 and a second round 80.
Sophomore William Haddrell is in a six-way tie along with junior Chris Pace for 48th. Both shot identical rounds with 76 in the first and 77 in the second round.
No. 12 North Carolina leads the 15-team field with a score of 576. No. 48 Duke, No. 24 Illinois, No. 11 Kansas State and No. 37 Michigan State round out the top five. No. 46 Toledo, No. 32 Tulsa, No. 39 Texas Tech, Florida Southern and North Carolina-Wilmington complete the top ten while Furman, Coastal Carolina, Virginia Tech, Old Dominion and Virginia Commonwealth complete the field.
Play will conclude tomorrow beginning at 9 a.m. on the 7,104-yard, par 72 Duke Golf Club.
