
No. 36 Golf Finishes in Fourth at Fresno State Classic

LUBBOCK, Texas - The men's team finished in the top five for its third consecutive tournament as it shot 846 (281, 281, 284) at the Fresno State Lexus Classic yesterday for a fourth place finish. The 54-hole score of 18-under par is the squad's best finish this season.
Sophomore Andrew Dresser was Tech top finisher with a fifth place tie. Dresser shot a seven-under par 209 (68, 72, 69), a career best score for Dresser who is coming off a second place finish at the Baylor Intercollegiate.
With a score of three-under par 213, sophomore Erik Stenman shot 71 in all three rounds. Sophomore William Haddrell finished in a 21st place tie after shooting 73, 68, 73 while junior Shaun Melville with a 217 (72, 72, 73), a season low, logged a 33rd place tie.
Junior Chris Pace tied for 43rd with a score of 219 (70, 70, 79), his best performance of the season. Sophomore Casey Jones was close behind tying in 46th with a score of 220 (76, 73, 71).
Colorado State won the tournament with a score of 831 with CSU's Nolan Martin winning among individuals with a score of 204. No. 50 San Diego State, No. 15 Brigham Young, No.36 Texas Tech and No. 32 Denver make out the top five teams. UTEP, Fresno State, CSU-Northridge, Nevada, Wyoming and Louisiana-Monroe round out the top ten finishes while No. 48 Pacific, Long Beach State, No. 34 Utah and San Jose State finish the field.
