LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech Men's Tennis team lost a tightly contested match to the twelfth ranked Texas A&M Aggies 4-3 this afternoon at the McLeod Tennis Center. The match was the team's first loss in Lubbock this season.
The Red Raiders (10-8, 1-3 Big 12) jumped out to an early lead in two of the three doubles matches before Texas A&M rallied to sweep the doubles point. With the match tied at three points apiece, the match's outcome came down to the result of the number six doubles match between A&M's Derrick Bauer and Tech's Alfonso Perez (Guadalajara, Mexico). After splitting the first two sets, Perez jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the deciding third set, before falling in a tiebreaker, 7-6 (4), 3-6, 7-6 (4).
