Royce Ramey Named Big 12 Player of the Week

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech senior Royce Ramey was honored today by the Big 12 Conference as it announced Ramey as its Big 12 Player of the Week for April 1-7.
The native of Richardson, Texas has served the team as a co-captain and its number one singles player this season. Ramey complied a 3-1 record last week in both singles and doubles competition. In singles play, Ramey posted wins over Texas A&M's Keith From and Nebraska's Lance Mills. Ramey and teammate Devin Wakeford defeated Fungai Tongoone and Jose Hernan of Nebraska, 8-2, to finish the week 1-1 in doubles action.
Ramey and the Red Raiders (11-8, 2-3 Big 12) will return to the McLeod Tennis Center as they host their final two home matches of the season as they take on the Rice Owls on Friday, April 12, at 1 p.m. and the New Mexico Lobos on Sunday, April 14, at noon.
