HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) - Cisti Greenwalt made sure No. 8 Texas Tech won its eighth straight game.
Greenwalt had 21 points and a career-high 11 rebounds as the Lady Raiders beat Southern Mississippi 86-62 Saturday.
Jia Perkins added 20 points for Texas Tech (8-1). Tierra Lassiter led Southern Mississippi (6-5) with 12 points.
Texas Tech led by three points midway through the first half when the Lady Raiders went on an 18-7 run to pull away.
"We came out kind of slow at first, but we stepped it up in the end of the first half," Greenwalt said. "We came out and played well on defense, and that helped our offense."
Texas Tech led 42-28 at halftime and shot 47.1 percent in the second half. Southern Miss shot only 28.6 percent in the first half.
Texas Tech hasn't lost since dropping its season-opener to Louisiana Tech.
"We played really hard. We are still a little inconsistent," Tech coach Marsha Sharp said. "We are playing well on the defensive end and we are making enough plays on offense to give us a chance to win."
