
Men's Tennis To Compete at Midland Invitational

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech men's tennis team will send three student-athletes to compete at the Midland Invitational in Midland, Texas, Oct. 18-20. Senior Alfonso Perez and freshmen Diederik de Groot and Radek Nijaki will represent the Red Raiders.
Tech will face tough competition as the following schools will be represented in Midland: Stanford, USC, UCLA, Pepperdine, Arizona, North Carolina, Illinois, Portland, SMU, Oklahoma, TCU, Texas, Baylor and Texas A&M.
Perez enters the tournament with a 7-2 singles record, while de Groot has a 4-4 mark. Nijaki will be playing in his first collegiate tournament. All three competed this week in the USTA-Futures tournament, which Tech hosted.
The Red Raiders will be in action again next weekend Oct. 24-27 as they compete in the ITA Regionals in Fort Worth, Texas.
