Texas Tech Golf In Second After Round One

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech men's golf team is in second place after shooting 281 in the first round at the Mid Pines Intercollegiate Tournament in Southern Pines, N.C.
Senior David Bolen (Austin/Sam Houston State) leads the tournament with a seven-under-par 65.
"I am really proud of David hanging in there and finishing strong," said Tech coach Greg Sands of Bolen's best collegiate round. "All of his dedication and hard work is really paying off."
Kyle Willmann shot a two-under-par 70 to tie for 13th while teammate Mark Hull shot a even-par 72 to tie in 23rd. Brooks Kelly and Red Raider newcomer Andre Metzger both shot 74s at two-over par.
Tech is one stroke ahead of 23rd-ranked San Diego State University and four strokes behind tournament-leading Old Dominion.
Play will continue tomorrow morning at 8:00 a.m.
