Coach Knight
On the first half: "We can not play any better than we did in the first 12 minutes of the game. I have never had a team play any better. Then we brought some kids off the bench and we didn't have the same intensity. After we brought the starters back in we ended the half well."
On the second half turnovers: "We did a poor job with the basketball in the second half."
On the offensive performance: "We hurt ourselves not so much at the defensive end but at the offensive end. We got in a position of get fouled a lot, but we didn't convert on our chances."
On the defense: "Defensively they shot over us and scored. We did not have the glaring defensive errors that we had in the New Mexico State game."
On breaking the TCU press: "We did a pretty good job against the press. We have got to get better at handling the ball."
On the Team so far this season: "We have a long way to go, I'm glad we have practice period. We can work on getting smarter and getting better."
Coach Tubbs
On the beginning of the game: "I think we were ready to play and they (Texas Tech) were too. But they outran us on the floor and dominated the first 10 minutes of the game. We got too far behind to catch up. I thought the game was decided in the first 10 minutes of the game."
On Texas Tech: "They were too good of a team for us to recover. We weren't good enough to spot a team from 20 points, much less 27 points."
On the fouls: "If you look at the fouls, there were about 25 on us. Look at the stats and you can tell that the game was decided at the free throw lines."
On the game (overall): "It was a physical game and we knew that coming into the game. I think they play physically better than we did. It was too little, too late."
On defense: "You can tell that defense was a problem with us. We couldn't get back into the game. We weren't guarding and we weren't get back on defense."
