Tech's Ramey Upsets No. 1 Seed in Midland Invitational

LUBBOCK, Texas-Texas Tech men's tennis player, Royce Ramey, beat the No. 1 seed in the Midland Invitational today. Ramey, seeded No. 4, defeated Ryan Newport (Texas A&M), 6-3, 3-6, 7-6.
Ramey was down 5-2 in the 3rd match and came back for the win. "This is a tremendous win for Royce," said Coach Tim Siegel. "He fought back hard and came up with his biggest win in his college career."
Ramey will play in the finals tomorrow at 1 p.m. in Midland. He will take on the No. 2 seed, Reiner Neohor (Baylor).
