COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) - Amber Tarr scored 21 points and Plenette Pierson had 20 points and 12 rebounds as No. 11 Texas Tech beat Texas A&M 85-78 on Saturday.
Texas Tech (13-2, 4-0 Big 12) opened the second half with a 20-6 run to take a 56-44 lead.
A&M pulled within four points, but freshman Jia Perkins hit a 3-pointer with 51 seconds to play and just a second left on the shot clock to give Texas Tech a seven-point lead.
Jaynetta Saunders had a career-high 34 points for Texas A&M (11-4, 1-3). Brandy Jones added 18 points, and Janae Derrick had 10.
