Texas Tech Women's Tennis Falls To No. 49 Kansas

Texas Tech women's tennis team drops to No. 49 Kansas 8-1, Sunday at Alvamar Racquet Club. The Red Raiders drop to 2-8 overall and 1-3 in the Big 12. The ranked Jayhawks improve to 7-2 overall and 1-0 in the Big 12.
On the doubles court Tech claimed the No. 1 position. Amanda Earhart and Ayako Suzuki defeated Brooke Chiller and Tiffany Chang, 8-5. Earhart and Suzuki's record improves to 5-4 overall and 2-1 in Big 12 action.
The Red Raiders were swept in singles action, but not without giving up a fight. Courts one and two were forced into an extra set. Tech's Earhart battled Brooke Chiller of Kansas, but came up short 4-6, 6-2, 6-1. Also, on singles court two, Suzuki fell to Cheryl Mallaiah in three sets, 4-6, 6-0, 7-6 (3).
Tech returns to action when they host conference opponent Kansas State at 10 a.m. Saturday in Lubbock.
