Daniel, Yossef Compete at NCAA Indoor Track Championships

Fayetteville, Ark. - Texas Tech track and field athletes Leigh Daniel and Gesachw Yossef finished 8th in the women's 3,000 and men's mile run at the NCAA indoor track and field championships Saturday night in Fayetteville, Ark. Both athletes earn All-American honors for their finishes. Daniel's 8th place finish in the 3,000 came in a time of 9:23.03. Villanova's Carrie Tollefson won the race in a time of 9:13.68. On Friday night Daniel finished fourth in the women's 5,000 meter run, marking the second year in a row she has earned multiple indoor All-American honors. Yossef placed 8th in the mile run in a time of 4:04.11. Stanford's Gabriel Jennings won the event with a time of 3:59.16. Yossef's finish makes him the first Tech man to earn indoor All-American honors since 1998.
