Texas Tech Softball Loses to Florida State

Fresno, Calif. - Texas Tech lost their final game of the Bulldog Classic Softball Tournament in Fresno, Calif. This afternoon, dropping a 1-0 decision to Florida State at Bulldog Diamond. The loss sends Tech to 8-21 on the season. Amanda Renfro took the loss for the Red Raiders and now has a record of 6-12 on the year. The game developed as a pitchers duel between Tech's Amanda Renfro and Florida State's Jennifer White-Stokes. Neither team was able to collect a hit until Texas Tech shortstop Paula Workman hit a single up the middle in the fourth inning. Florida State came back in the bottom half of the fourth to score the first run of the game when Rita Brooks scored from third base on a sacrifice bunt off the bat of Teresa Edenfield. The Seminoles added two more runs in the fifth inning to make the score 3-0 The Red Raiders return to action on Wednesday.
