LUBBOCK, Texas - Jia Perkins' 19 points led No. 10 Texas Tech to a 72-30 win over Southwest Texas State Wednesday night.
Dionne Brown added 12 points and 10 rebounds, while Katrissa O'Neal scored 11.
Texas Tech (4-0) outrebounded the Bobcats 46-22.
Despite the margin of victory, Texas Tech was far from displaying the uptempo style it used against No. 8 Penn State and No. 16 Southwest Missouri in winning the Paradise Jam Tournament over the Thanksgiving weekend.
The Bobcats (2-3) worked to slow Tech's tempo, with a goal of keeping the Lady Raiders below 85 points. By halftime, the Bobcats had scored only 10 points to Tech's 33.
Aleise Johnson led the Bobcats with eight points and five rebounds.
The Lady Raiders built on their lead during the second half while Southwest Texas was plagued by fouls and turnovers.
Tech shot 25-of-54 from the field. Southwest Texas was 13-of-46.
The Lady Raiders also were more accurate from the 3-point line, hitting 4-of-6 compared to the Bobcats' 1-of-10.
Texas Tech now holds an 8-0 record over the Bobcats. Last year, the Red Raiders won 102-44.
