Red Raiders Close Day Two at ITA Tourney

The Texas Tech men's tennis team continue to participate in the ITA Tournament in Fort Worth, Texas, this weekend at the Bayard Friedman Tennis Center. Competing in the tournament for the Red Raiders is senior co-captain Borut Martincevic, sophomore Clay Estes and junior Patricio Espinosa in singles.
Martincevic seeded 13th in the tournament fell to Alastair Jenkin from Texas, 6-1, 3-6, 6-4. He will try and rebound tomorrow against Texas' Ron Kloppert at 9:00 a.m.
Estes seeded 22 in the sixteen-team tournament entered the weekend 4-1 and earned his fifth win for the fall season against UTA's Tom Zarzeczny. Estes won the match in three-sets 7-5, 3-6, 6-3. He fell in the next round to Jakub llowski seeded 11 in the tournament 6-3, 6-4.
Espinosa seeded 21 in the tournament is the final player competing in singles for Tech, won his first match in two-sets. He defeated Ryan Mauck of SMU 7-5, 6-3. Advancing to the next round, Espinosa defeated Magnus Kullenberg the 12th seeded player in the tournament in three-sets 7-6, 1-6, 6-2. Espinosa's streak came short after falling to the fifth seeded player in the tournament, Scott Eddins of TCU 3-6, 6-3, 6-4.
In doubles action, Tech's 14th seeded combo Espinosa and Estes defeated TCU's Petr Koula and Daniel Wajnberg 8-6. However, the Red Raiders fell short to Will Clinton and Alastair Jenkin of Texas, 6-3, 2-6, 6-1.
Martincevic and walk-on Chris Drumm defeated Carson Mays and Tomi Winnig 9-7. However the two fell to Domenico Marra and Mariano Pettigrosso the 13th seeded team 8-5.
