LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech men's and women's track teams will be in action for the first time this season tomorrow evening as they compete in the Red Raider Indoor Invitational at the Athletic Training Center on the Texas Tech campus. The meet will start at 6 p.m. Friday and run through the evening and all day Saturday. The first event Saturday is scheduled at 9 a.m.
"These early season meets are important for us," Texas Tech head coach Wes Kittley said. "They help us (the coaches) see where the athletes are and give us some clue as to where they can compete this season."
The meet will be Kittley's first since he took over the track and field program in July.
Among the teams scheduled to compete are Abilene Christian, Wayland Baptist, UT-Arlington, UT-San Antonio, Dallas Baptist, McMurry College and Odessa College.
Leigh Daniel, Texas Tech's reigning 5,000-meter national champion, will be in action Friday evening at 6 o'clock when she competes in the 5,000-meter run.
