Day One Complete at Red Raider Invitational

LUBBOCK, Texas -
The Texas Tech men's and women's track and field teams finished competition in the first day of the Red Raider Invitational today. The meet which features nine other schools is taking place at the Athletic Training Center on the Texas Tech campus today and Saturday. Events completed were the men's and women's 5,000-meters, the men's and women's distance medley relay, the men's high jump, the men's and women's pole vault and the men's and women's shot put.
Leading the way for Texas Tech was Tara Hangge (Richland, Washington). The junior took first place in the 5,000-meters with a time of 18:51.95. Other Red Raiders competing on the day were pole vaulter Dan Warfield who took fourth place in the event with a vault of 4.75 meters and the men's distance medley relay team that took third with a mark of 10:32.80.
All other events at the meet will be completed in the second day of action that begins tomorrow at 9 a.m.
