LUBBOCK, Texas - Q: What are your impressions of this year's team?
A: I feel this is the best team we've had depth wise in my three years at Texas Tech. We have an opportunity to be a great team. Also, the chemistry is very good on the team. We all get along great which is very important during the long season.
Q: What are the team's expectations for the 1999 campaign?
A: We feel that we can establish our teams as one of the top-30 teams in the nation over the course of the season. And, of course, the goal is to make our fourth straight trip to the NCAA tournament and try to advance to the championships.
Q: Why did you come to Texas Tech?
A: I came here because Tim Siegel is a great coach. I had scholarship offers to go to some of the nation's biggest programs, but I felt that none of their coaches could match Coach Siegel's ability to develop players into professionals.
Q: Do you hope to play tennis at the professional level?
A: Definitely, I want to continue my tennis career at the next level. I took a year off between high school and college and played in professional tournaments. I would like to return to them when my time at Texas Tech is finished.
Q: What do you like to do when you're not playing tennis.
A: I like to listen to music a lot. You also might find me at the library, a museum or Barnes and Nobles. I find all those places real interesting.
