LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) - Plenette Pierson scored 21 points as No. 16 Texas Tech beat SMU 63-47 Saturday night.

Texas Tech (5-0) built a 13-point halftime lead and was never seriously threatened in the second half. The Lady Raiders took their biggest lead, 63-45, with just over a minute left in the game.

Keitha Dickerson scored 11 points for the Lady Raiders, and Tanisha Ellison added 10.

Karlin Kennedy scored 14 points for the Mustangs (3-2), who shot only 34 percent from the field.
