Raiders Dump Southwest Texas State

LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) - Andy Ellis scored 22 points and Rayford Young added another 21, leading Texas Tech to a 77-68 victory over Southwest Texas State on Tuesday night.
Texas Tech's James Ware and Mario Layne also scored in double digits, adding 13 and 12 points, respectively, to the Red Raiders' tally.
Within the first 10 minutes of play, the Red Raiders (6-2) took the lead. By halftime, they led by 19 points, 40-21.
Jason Blair contributed 21 points, Manny Flores 13 and Wesley Williams 10 throughout the game. Their efforts helped Southwest Texas (3-5) remain in the game during the second half as the Bobcats slowly chipped Tech's lead down to 10 points during the last minutes of the game.
Overall, Tech shot at 41.9 percent, compared with the Bobcats' 23.1 percent.
