One of the top goalkeeper coaches in the nation, Blair Quinn enters his second season as an assistant coach and the goalkeepers coach for the Red Raiders.

Quinn made an immediate impact in his first season in Lubbock (2023), as he helped guide the Red Raiders to the first Big 12 regular season title in program history, the first undefeated home regular season (10-0-0) in program history as well as the first home Round of 32 and Round of 16 matches in program history.

Helping mentor and guide a backline that recorded 13 clean sheets and allowed just 11 goals in 23 total matches, Quinn also was key in GK Madison White turning in the best season of her college career as White set new career marks in: wins (16), saves (70), shutouts (13), fewest goals allowed (11) and goals-against-average (0.47). White earned the Big 12s Goalkeeper of the Year, while centerback Hannah Anderson was named the B12s Defensive Player of the Year.Â

Tech closed the 2024 season with a final ranking of No. 9 overall, marking the first time in program history that the Red Raiders concluded the season inside the top-10 of the United Soccer Coaches Association poll (USC). Quinn and the Red Raider coaching staff were named the USCs Midwest Region Coaching Staff of the Year for their efforts.

In 2023, the Red Raiders hosted the first three rounds of the NCAA Tournament for the first time in school history, defeating FGCU and Princeton before falling to 22-time national champion UNC in the Round of 16.
With the help of Quinn and the coaching staff, the Red Raiders earned four All-America selections (most in program history) and had a pair of First Team All-Americans (Anderson and White) for the first time in Tech Soccer’s history. Anderson and White were joined on the three All-America teams by Macy Blackburn and Same Courtwright who were also named Third Team All-Americans. Courtwright became the first true freshman to earn All-America honors in Tech history and was one of just two freshmen to earn All-America honors.

In the end, a nations-leading five Red Raiders earned First Team All-Region honors by the United Soccer Coaches Association (Anderson, Blackburn, Courtwright, White and Williams).

Sporting one of the deepest and strongest rosters in the country, the successes were not just limited to award and accolades, as the Red Raiders concluded one of the most dominate regular season runs in program history and climbed as high as No. 4 in the country.

Closing the regular season as one of four unbeatens in the country (Florida State, South Alabama, Stanford and Tech), the Red Raiders trailed just four times all season including just twice the in 18 game regular season (at No. 6 BYU and at UCF). Closing the season with a goal differential of +34, the Red Raiders also boasted one of the best defensive units in the country, as White and the Tech backline anchored by Anderson allowed just 11 goals for the season (0.47 per game) and recorded 13 total clean sheets, the second-most in the nation. The Red Raiders closed the regular season with eight straight clean sheets at home and did not allow a goal against Big 12 foes at home.Â

Quinn who was hired at Tech in Feb. of 2023, arrived in Lubbock after spending two seasons at Iowa as the Hawkeyes associate head coach and head goalkeeper’s coach. Quinn helped lead Iowa to the program’s first Big 10 title in school history and a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances.

In his first season with Iowa, Quinn led the squad to one of the best seasons in program history as the Hawkeyes garnered their highest ranking in program history checking in at No. 17. The squad posted nine straight wins and totaled 15 on the year. That same year, Iowa made its second NCAA Tournament appearance in school history. Â

In 2020, the Hawkeyes saw its second straight tournament berth in a year with an expanded Big Ten postseason schedule due to league-only scheduling because of COVID. The Hawkeyes posted wins over second-seeded Illinois and third-seeded Minnesota in the Big Ten Regional weekend.  The team followed with a road win at top-seeded Penn State in the Big Ten Tournament semifinals before downing third-seeded Wisconsin to claim the program's first-ever Big Ten title.Â

During their 2020 campaign, goalkeeper Macy Enneking was named the Big Ten Tournament Most Outstanding Defensive Player after posting a pair of shutouts and making 14 saves. Enneking was also a unanimous Big Ten All-Freshman team selection after taking over in goal midway through the season. The freshman led the Big Ten with a 0.47 goals against average in 11 games, her .912 saves percentage was tops in the league and her six shutouts were tied for third.Â

Prior to his four seasons with the Hawkeyes, Quinn made stops at Houston, Arizona State, New Mexico State, Loyola Marymount and Saint Mary (Kansas). Â

While acting as an assistant coach at Houston, Quinn also assisted with the NWSL's Houston Dash. In his two seasons at Houston, the Cougars tallied 14 wins after only winning 12 games over the last four previous seasons. Â

During his two stints at Arizona State, the Sun Devils made three NCAA Tournament appearances, including his last stint during 2014-15. Prior to rejoining the Sun Devils, Quinn was the head coach at New Mexico State from 2011-13, where he guided the Aggies to a single-season record 10 wins and the program's first postseason victory in the WAC Tournament. During his playing days, Quinn played professionally from 1997-2003. He started his professional career with the Tallahassee Scorpions of the Eastern Indoor Soccer League before playing with the Sacramento Knights of the Western Indoor Soccer League. Quinn was with the Kansas City Brass of the United Systems of Independent Soccer Leagues and Arizona Thunder (WISL), before he ended his playing career with the Kansas City Comets of the Major Indoor Soccer League.Â

During his college tenure, he was a three-year starter at Rockhurst University (NAIA) as a goalkeeper. Quinn garnered first-team NAIA All-America and second-team National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-America honors. During his final campaign as a senior, he led the Hawks to the NAIA Final Four and still holds Rockhurst records for shutouts in a season (15) and career (37).Â

Quinn earned a bachelor's degree in communications in 2005 from Rockhurst University. He also has earned several coaching licenses, including United States Soccer Federation (USSF) National "A" License, United States Soccer Federation (USSF) National Goalkeeping License and the NSCAA National Youth Diploma.Â

A native of Overland Park, Kansas, Quinn and his wife, Lacey, have two sons, Aidan and Riley.Â
