Competed in three meets during the indoor season, including the Big 12 Championships ... racked up a 12th-place finish at the conference meet in the heptathlon with 3,825 points ... put up a best of 2:51.44 in the 1000 meters at the Big 12 meet.

Attended Fort Worth Chrisitian High School, in fort Worth, Texas, where he competed in the sprints and jumps ... Placed fifth at the TAPPS State Championships in his junior year in the 400 meters, running a 51.52 ... Also placed fourth in the pole vault, clearing 3.96m/13-0.
