Texas Tech enters its road trip to Colorado ranked as high as No. 10 in the two polls Sunday
LUBBOCK, Texas โ Texas Tech stayed at No. 10 in the U.S. LBM coaches poll Sunday, while dropping one spot to No. 12 in the Associated Press rankings after the Red Raiders' 49-14 victory over Sam Houston.
Texas Tech extended its home winning streak inside Galaxy Stadium to 11-consecutive games Saturday, improving the Red Raiders to 4-0 heading into their Big 12 road opener at Colorado this weekend. The Red Raiders are tied with Ohio State for the fifth-longest home winning streak in college football at the moment and the longest among Big 12 programs.
The Red Raiders are one of four Big 12 programs to appear in either set of rankings this week as BYU is No. 9 in the coaches poll and No. 10 by the Associated Press. Oklahoma State moved into the Associated Press poll at No. 18 overall, one spot ahead of Houston, which is at No. 20 in both polls this week. The Cowboys are only receiving votes in the coaches poll.
Kickoff between Texas Tech and Colorado is set for 6:30 p.m. CT Saturday night with coverage provided on FOX and the Texas Tech Sports Network. It will be the Red Raiders' first trip to Boulder since a 27-24 victory in 2010, their lone road win all-time in the series.
Following the Colorado game, the Red Raiders will play three of their next four games inside Galaxy Stadium, beginning with Arizona State on Oct. 17 and followed by visits from Arizona on Oct. 31 and West Virginia on Nov. 7.
