The Big 12 opener versus Houston marks Texas Tech’s third advanced sellout already for the 2026 season
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech announced Monday it has sold out of its primary ticket inventory for Friday night's Big 12 Conference opener between the No. 13 Red Raiders and No. 22 Houston at Galaxy Stadium.
The advanced sellout is the third already for the 2026 season and continues Texas Tech's trend of capacity crowds at Galaxy Stadium. Texas Tech has now sold out of its primary ticket inventory for 10-consecutive home games dating back to the start of the 2025 season, including the upcoming Sept. 26 non-conference finale versus Sam Houston.
That streak will likely move to 11-consecutive games in the coming weeks as Texas Tech has less than 500 tickets remaining for its Oct. 17 showdown with Arizona State. The Sun Devils kick off a stretch of three home games over a four-week span with visits from Arizona on Oct. 31 and then West Virginia on Nov. 7. Texas Tech closes the regular season at home Thanksgiving night for a 7 p.m. kickoff with TCU.
Tickets for the Arizona State game and any remaining Texas Tech home game can be purchased online at TexasTech.com or by calling the Athletics Ticket Office at 806-742-TECH. Once a game has reached sellout status, fans are encouraged to utilize SeatGeek, the official secondary ticket provider of Texas Tech Athletics.
Kickoff between Texas Tech and Houston is slated for 7 p.m. Friday night from Galaxy Stadium. Coverage will be provided nationally on FOX and the Texas Tech Sports Network.
