Red Raiders complete the reverse sweep over Prairie View A&M

Tech rallies back to remain undefeated in five set matches this season
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech volleyball (5-2) took down Prairie View A&M (0-8) in five sets after trailing 0-2 early in the match. Sara Bowcutt and Elia Dinsmore led the way offensively with 25 and 12 kills, respectively as they both recorded double-doubles.
Emily Contreras recorded a new career in digs with 21 while Kayla Robertson set a new career high in kills with 11. Shelby Ignash finished with 11 kills and a pair of blocks. Katelyn Cochran led the way at the setter position with 45 assists and adding 10 digs for her first double-double of the season.
The Red Raiders dropped the first two sets after close battles with the Lady Panthers winning 25-23 and 26-24 to take an early 2-0 lead despite being out hit by Tech. Prairie View did a good job of not committing errors in serve receive as they had just seven through the first two sets compared to Tech's 12. The Lady Panthers also had six blocks to Tech's two as those areas proved to be the biggest difference early.
Tech hit a blistering .429 in the third set and held the Lady Panthers to just a .031 hitting percentage as they avoided the sweep with a 25-17 set three win fueled by the energy of Dinsmore who had three kills and two blocks. Robertson and Bowcutt each had four kills in the set and the three players combined had zero attack errors.
The Red Raiders forced a fifth set after a 25-20 win in the fourth behind seven kills from Bowcutt who hit .455 in the set. Robertson and Dinsmore combined for seven kills with Robertson hitting .750 in the set. The Red Raiders improved to 3-0 on the season in five set matches
