Six seniors to represent Texas Tech at Big 12 Media Days

The Red Raiders kick off the two-day event on July 7 at The Star in Frisco
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech will be represented by six of its senior leaders in just over a week at the Monster Energy Big 12 Media Days as head coach Joey McGuire will be joined by tight end Terrance Carter Jr., wide receiver Coy Eakin, defensive lineman A.J. Holmes Jr., cornerback Brice Pollock, linebacker Ben Roberts and offensive lineman Sheridan Wilson.
There will be no shortage of coverage for the reigning Big 12 Champions, who are coming off a school record 12 wins and their first Big 12 title in school history. The task now at hand is repeating atop the conference standings, a feat that's been accomplished by only two schools in the league's now 30-year history.
Oklahoma had two different multi-year stretches of defending its Big 12 title, doing so first from 2006-08 and then again from 2015-20. Baylor, meanwhile, won the conference outright in 2013 and then shared the league title in 2014 during a period where a championship game was not played.
All six of Texas Tech's representatives were part of last season's Big 12 Championship team and the run to the College Football Playoff. In fact, the likes of Eakin, Roberts and Wilson have been with the Red Raiders since McGuire's arrival on campus as head coach in 2022, helping push Texas Tech to four-consecutive bowl appearances and the most Big 12 wins by any league member regardless of conference affiliation during that stretch.
Big 12 Media Days runs July 7-8 at The Star in Frisco, the official team headquarters of the Dallas Cowboys. The Red Raiders will lead off the two-day event alongside Arizona State, Baylor, BYU, UCF, Colorado, Houston and Oklahoma State.
ESPNU will broadcast live at Big 12 Media Days from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. CT each day (simulcast on Big 12 Studios), featuring interviews with not only McGuire and players but also press conference footage as well. ESPN's Kevin Connors will host the coverage with analysis from Dusty Dvoracek and Louis Riddick alongside reporters Jen Lada and Sydney Jones.
Texas Tech will provide its own coverage from Big 12 Media Days via its social media channels as well as on TexasTech+.
