Texas Tech has announced parking information for its April 24-25 baseball series with Oklahoma State and its two-night George Strait concert inside Jones AT&T Stadium
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech announced parking information Thursday for the upcoming George Strait concerts inside Jones AT&T Stadium as well as the coinciding baseball series against Oklahoma State on April 24-25.
Strait will headline back-to-back nights inside Jones AT&T Stadium, featuring Dylan Gossett and Zach Top as the opening acts on April 24 followed by Texas Tech's own Hudson Westbrook as well as Miranda Lambert on April 25. Texas Tech recently released a limited supply of tickets to both shows, which can be purchased here.
Concert attendees are encouraged to purchase parking in advance and to arrive early in order to avoid any travel issues. All parking is general admission (no assigned spaces) with lots opening at 2:30 p.m. each day. Stadium gates will open at 4:15 p.m., roughly 90 minutes ahead of the anticipated start to each show.
Texas Tech will utilize mobile parking passes for the satellite and United Supermarkets Arena lots. Physical parking permits will be distributed in the coming days for parking purchases in all other concert lots. Tailgating is not permitted in any parking lot ahead of each concert. Texas Tech is also not permitting RVs in any on-campus lot, even with an advanced parking purchase.
Memorial Circle in the heart of the Texas Tech campus will serve as the official rideshare pick-up and drop-off location. Concert attendees will be directed from that location to Jones AT&T Stadium through the Engineering Key with help from event signage and staff both nights.
As a reminder, Texas Tech's Clear Bag Policy will be in effect similar to all athletics events on campus. Patrons attending the George Strait concerts as well as future Texas Tech football and basketball home games will be screened with the Evolv Express weapons detections system at each entry point. Texas Tech will also host Oklahoma State in a three-game Big 12 baseball series that same weekend at nearby Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park, with a 1 p.m. start each day to help with traffic control on campus. Due to the additional campus activity surrounding the George Strait concerts, several temporary parking adjustments will be implemented to ensure a smooth experience for baseball fans.
Season ticket holders with Dan Law East and C-3 parking passes will experience no changes and may continue to park in their designated lots as usual. Fans with R-23 parking will be relocated to the satellite lots near the John Walker Soccer Complex where Citibus will provide complimentary shuttle service to and from Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park. Season ticket holders who typically utilize the C-1 Commuter North lot on gameday will be directed to the satellite lot as well.
Similar to the George Strait concerts, Texas Tech encourages baseball tickets holders to arrive at the ballpark early each day to avoid any parking issues. To purchase tickets for the Oklahoma State series or any remaining baseball game, please visit here.
In addition, the Texas Tech Club located in the East Stadium Building of Jones AT&T Stadium will close beginning Saturday, April 18 and will reopen Tuesday, April 28 due to limited parking availability during that span in the C-2 lot. Texas Tech will utilize the area immediately east of Jones AT&T Stadium for George Strait's production team with setup expected a week prior to the concert. Â
The Texas Tech athletics department will remain open during that same time frame but will have restricted access to the Ed Whitacre Center for Athletics Administration in the East Stadium Building. The Athletic Ticket Office will maintain its normal operating hours of 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday at its street-level location in the East Stadium Building. The ticket office can also be reached at 806-742-TECH with any concert or athletics events questions.
