Linkin Garcia tabbed Wallace Award Semifinalist

The SS was the only freshman selected as one of the 15 semifinalists
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Texas Tech Freshman Linkin Garcia was named one of the 15 Semifinalists for the 2026 Brooks Wallace Award (Nation's Best Shortstop), the Wallace Award Committee announced Wednesday.
A native of Huntington Beach, Calif., Garcia has hit .367 with a team-high 62 hits. Garcia has also added four home runs and 45 RBIs. He has 14 doubles and scored 47 times.
On Sunday afternoon at Utah, Garcia snapped a 33-game home run less streak when he homered to lead off the fourth inning.
Garcia followed up his strong Sunday performance with a 4-for-5 day against Tarleton on Tuesday night. He drove in the run-rule clinching run in the win over the Texans.
The performance was his team-best 20th-multi hit game of the season.
