LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech Lady Raiders have signed Rhema Collins out of Florida International University announced by head coach Krista Gerlich on Tuesday.
"Rhema Collins could be the hidden gem of the portal," Gerlich said. "An athletic, versatile 3-4-5 player who will go get the ball off the rim. She's aggressive to the basket and led the nation in drawing fouls last season. She is a steal threat on defense and can stretch to the three or post up smaller defenders. Rhema will be a lot to handle on both ends of the court. I love her work ethic, coach ability and competitive spirit. She is another instant Lady Raider Nation favorite."
Collins had a career season in 2025-26 at FIU. A three-time Conference USA Player of the Week, she was also named the CUSA Player of the Year, CUSA Newcomer of the Year, a First Team All-CUSA selection and to the CUSA All-Defensive Team. Leading the Panthers to a 21-11 overall record and a 12-6 CUSA record to finish second in the league, Collins also helped FIU to the semifinals of the conference tournament and to the Second Round of the WNIT.
Collins led the Panthers in minutes (1,002), field goals (179), free throws (162), points (532), rebounds (268), points per game (17.1) and blocks (43). She was also second on the team with 62 steals, while shooting 45.9 percent from the field (179-for-390) and 72.0 percent from the free throw line (162-for-225). Not only did Collins lead the team with 8.9 rebounds per game, but also grabbed a whopping 121 offensive boards, ranking 12th nationally in the category. In addition, Collins checked in at 13th nationally in free throw attempts and 18th in free throws made.
Starting in 27 games and appearing in 30, Collins totaled 24 games in double-figures and 11 games with 20-plus points. Collins recorded 14 double-doubles in the season, ranking 26th nationally in that category, and became one of just 24 players in the nation to score 40-plus points in a game. Against Georgia State on Dec, 5, 2025, Collins posted a career-best of 40 points on 16-for-21 shooting (.762), while going a perfect 7-for-7 at the charity stripe. She also added 13 rebounds, four assists, three steals and two blocks in that game.
Collins spent her first two seasons at Ole Miss (2023-25), where she appeared in 24 games and averaged 5.6 minutes per game. In her sophomore year, Collins shot 46.4 percent from the field (13-for-28) and added 29 rebounds, 17 of those coming on the offensive end. She also recorded seven blocks, eight steals and 41 points on the year.
