Ruisnek earns BA Two-Way Player of the week

After recording seven hits and a home run at the plate and striking out for in two scoreless, Rusinek earned Baseball America honors Tuesday
LUBBOCK, Texas – After recording seven hits and a home run at the plate and striking out four in two scoreless on the mound, Texas Tech freshman Jesse Ruisnek was named Baseball America's Two-Way Player of the Week, the publication announced Tuesday.
The recognition marks the first time that a Red Raider has been named to Baseball America's "Team of the Week" this season.
A native of Brock, Rusinek went 7-16 (.438) at the plate with a home run, five RBIs and three runs scored before adding two shutout innings with four strikeouts to his weekly ledger.
On Saturday, Rusinek went 4-for-6 at the plate with three RBIs and stolen base before adding the two scoreless innings with four punchouts on the mound.
For the season, Rusinek is hitting .444 with two home runs and 21 RBIs. He has also added five doubles and three triples. Rusinek has walked 13 times and struck out just 10 times and is a perfect 8-for-8 on stolen base attempts.
The lefty has made eight appearances and struck 13 batters in just 10.1 innings.
Rusinek and the Red Raiders kick off an important four-game week on Tuesday night when ACU comes to Lubbock for a 6:30 p.m. midweek contest.
