LUBBOCK – Donovan Atwell set a new Texas Tech single-season record by making 130 3-pointers this season and now has been selected to the E*TRADE Men's 3-Point Championship as part of the 37th annual State Farm College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships at Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on Friday, April 3. The event will be broadcast nationally on ESPN at 11 a.m. on Sunday, April 5.

Atwell's 130 makes from beyond the arc broke the previous program record of 94 by Cory Carr and he also was 81-for-169 (47.9%) against Big 12 opponents to set a new in-conference program record. Atwell finished this season averaging 13.5 points per game and earned All-Big 12 Honorable Mention and All-Big 12 Newcomer Team honors. A transfer from UNC Greensboro, Atwell went 341-for-821 (41.5%) on 3-pointers and scored 1,348 points during his four-year collegiate career.
Texas Tech has also been represented by Ronald Ross (2005) and Jarrius Jackson (2007) in the 3-point contest.
