Bresnu, Red Raiders remain hot in Hawaii

WAIMEA, Hawaii — Led by junior Adam Bresnu's 12-under-par performance through two rounds, the No. 16 Texas Tech men's golf team sits fifth in the 20-team field at the Amer Ari Invitational following play Friday at Mauna Lani's North Course.
Bresnu fired a bogey-free 5-under 67 in the second round after opening the event with a 7-under 65 on Thursday. At 12-under, he is tied for seventh in the 122-player field. Bresnu started his second round 4-under following his first six holes before cruising into the clubhouse with 11 pars and a birdie to cap his round.
Like Thursday, all four of Texas Tech's counting scores were under par. In addition to Bresnu, Ben Gregg shot a 4-under 68, Connor Graham added a 3-under 69 and Tim Wiedemeyer posted a 2-under 70, helping the Red Raiders to a 14-under 274 in the second round.
No. 5 Auburn maintained the lead it built in the opening round and sits at 47-under entering the final round. Auburn's Jackson Koivun holds the individual lead at 20-under, eight shots ahead of Bresnu, after consecutive rounds of 10-under 62.
The final round begins Saturday with a 7:30 a.m. HT (11:30 a.m. CT) shotgun start.
