Red Raiders earn 24th consecutive NCAA Regional bid
May 06, 2026 | Men's Golf
LUBBOCK, Texas — The No. 7 Texas Tech men's golf team was selected Wednesday to participate in the 2026 NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championships, announced live on Golf Channel. The Red Raiders, an at-large selection, were placed in the Corvallis Regional, hosted by Oregon State, May 18-20.
The Corvallis Regional will be played at Trysting Tree Golf Club, the home course of Oregon State's men's and women's golf programs. The links-style course sits along the Willamette River and opened in 1988, featuring bentgrass greens and fairways. In 2017, the course unveiled a new routing that included three redesigned holes by Northwest native and former Oregon State player Dan Hixson.
The regional marks Texas Tech's 24th consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance under head coach Greg Sands and the 27th overall appearance in program history.
Arkansas enters as the No. 1 seed, followed closely by Texas Tech at No. 2. The Razorbacks are ranked No. 6 nationally, while the Red Raiders sit at No. 7. They are followed by Oklahoma as the 3-seed, Charlotte as the 4-seed, and UCLA as the 5-seed, rounding out the top five seeds. Host Oregon State enters as the No. 10-seed.
The Corvallis Regional is one of six sites hosting 54 holes of competition May 18-20, with the top five teams from each advancing to the NCAA Championship Finals. Other regional sites include Athens, Ga. (host: Georgia), Bermuda Run, N.C. (host: Wake Forest), Bryan, Texas (host: Texas A&M), Columbus, Ohio (host: Ohio State), and Marana, Ariz. (host: Arizona).
Corvallis is one of three regionals featuring 13 teams and 10 individuals (alongside Bermuda Run and Marana), while the other three sites will include 14 teams and five individuals. The top five teams and the lowest individual not on an advancing team from each regional will move on to the NCAA Championship.
The Red Raiders will be seeking their sixth consecutive NCAA Championship appearance and 18th overall. The NCAA Championship will be held May 29-June 3 at the Omni La Costa Champions Course in Carlsbad, Calif.
