Record eight Red Raiders invited to NFL Scouting Combine
February 11, 2026 | Football
LUBBOCK, Texas — The NFL announced its official invite list on Wednesday for the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine, which included a single-season record eight Red Raiders. A total of 319 prospects were invited to Indianapolis for the event, scheduled for Feb. 23-March 2 at Lucas Oil Stadium.
The selections from Texas Tech's 2025 Big 12 Championship team included quarterback Behren Morton; wide receivers Caleb Douglas and Reggie Virgil; defensive linemen David Bailey, Skyler Gill-Howard, Romello Height, and Lee Hunter; and linebacker Jacob Rodriguez.
Texas Tech, which fielded one of college football's most dominant defenses, sends five members of its front seven after leading the Football Bowl Subdivision in rushing defense and ranking third in scoring defense in 2025. Bailey, Gill-Howard, Height, and Hunter are four of the 63 defensive linemen invited to the combine, matching Oklahoma for the most in that position group.
Rodriguez, who finished fifth in the 2025 Heisman Trophy voting, was one of 29 linebackers invited.
Offensively, Morton was one of 15 quarterbacks selected to participate. Douglas and Virgil were among the 46 wide receivers invited.
The eight invitations mark Texas Tech's highest total since the 2009 combine, when Michael Crabtree, Graham Harrell, Darcel McBath, Louis Vasquez, and Brandon Williams received invitations following the Red Raiders' 2008 season under coach Mike Leach.
Live coverage of the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine begins Feb. 26 on NFL Network and NFL+.
The 2026 NFL Draft is scheduled for April 23-25 in Pittsburgh, marking the city's first time hosting the event since the 1948 NFL Draft.
