
Red Raiders get win to end FAU Tournament

BOCA RATON, Florida – The Red Raiders (2-1) finished up their appearance in Boca Raton with a 3-1 win over Kent State (0-3) on Saturday. Reagan Engler and Peyton Dunn put up solid games and earned All-Tournament Team honors for their performance in Texas Tech's 2-1 weekend. Kalli Jioshvili Ravva saw her first collegiate action and recorded the match-clinching point to highlight her debut.
Engler finished the match with 11 kills and seven digs while Dunn had 26 assists and 12 digs as she picked up her second-straight double-double. Ashlyn Bellamy led the team with 13 kills and hit an incredible .542 while also adding five digs.
Addie Kanouff recorded seven kills for the third straight match as Tatum Johnson finished with five kills and Aliyah McDonald added four kills and three blocks. Jioshvili Ravva finished her collegiate debut with three kills, five digs and two assists in just two sets of work.
Sierra Grizzle led the match with 29 digs and added seven assists and two aces. Jasmine Martin, Katelyn Cochran and Taylor Bahnub each added a kill to round out the scoring for Tech.
Tech was in another back-and-forth affair as the match saw 17 lead changes and 30 ties during the four-set battle. A big difference in the match came in at the service line where the Golden Flashes had 15 errors to Tech's four. Every set was decided by three or less points as both team hit under .200 in a defensive battle.

How it happened:
- The Red Raiders ended the first set with just eight kills but were able to get the win thanks to several Kent State errors at the service line.
- Tech's offense found its groove in the second set, hitting .382 with 14 kills as they took a 2-0 lead.
- The Golden Flashes would not go away, however, as they rattled back from a 10-4 deficit in the third set to force the match to a fourth set. Kent State hit .316 in the set after regrouping from a timeout but were unable to keep that efficiency up in the fourth set.
- Kent State hit just .050 for the set as Tech was able to get a lead and hold it for the win.
