
Frank wins silver medal in hammer throw Thursday

Frank finishes her collegiate season as a two-time First Team All-American in the event
EUGENE, Ore. – Shelby Frank placed second in the hammer throw with a PB mark of 71.05m (233-1) to highlight the second day of the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Championships Thursday evening at Hayward Field.

In Frank's only two meetings competing in the hammer throw at the outdoor championships, she has finished as a First Team All-American (seventh in 2024). Sitting in third on her final throw, Frank heaved it 71.05m to move into second place. She entered the meet ranked fourth in the nation and will compete in the discus throw Saturday where she is ranked fifth.
In the 800m race, Fanny Arendt finished 11th overall with a time of 2:03.13.
Destiny Smith and Tonie-Ann Forbes each finished in the top-20 tonight in the 100m hurdles. Smith clocked in at 13.18 (1.5), placing 14th, while Forbes clocked in at 13.37 (0.0) to finish 18th. Â
