All three Red Raiders will be going to the national meet for a second year in a row
BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The Texas Tech men's track and field team completed day one of the NCAA West First Round Championships Wednesday evening at E.B. Cushing Stadium.

Three Red Raiders punched their tickets to the national meet in Eugene, Ore., two weeks from now. Trey Wilson III was the first as he placed eighth in the shot put throwing 19.05m (62-6). A few moments later, Sean Gribble wrapped up his competition in the pole vault clearing 5.42m (17-9.25) finishing eighth. Ernest Cheruiyot capped off the night in the 10k placing third with a time of 28:12.16.
Malachi Snow doubled in the 100m hurdles and 10om sprint securing finals lanes for Friday in each event. He placed second overall in the 100m hurdles with a time of 13.30 (-0.6) for the No. 2 time in Texas Tech history – he's the first Red Raider to crack the top-3 since 2011, joining the great Omo Osagahe. About 25 minutes later, he placed fourth with a time of 10.23 (0.3).

·     Desean Boyce (45.81, Q) and Shaemar Uter (46.08, Q) each advanced to Fridays quarterfinal in the 400m.
·     Oskar Edlund (49.46, Q) and Mario Paul (50.15, Q) each advanced to Friday's quarterfinal in the 400m hurdles.
·     Johnathan Crawford advanced in the 200m with a time of 20.77 (-0.1, Q)
