No. 14 Red Raiders set for Utah series

Tech will now play a doubleheader on Friday and one game on Sunday
LUBBOCK, Texas – The No. 14 Red Raiders (28-9, 8-1) will host Utah (12-24, 4-5) this weekend beginning with a doubleheader on Friday at 2 p.m. and game two scheduled at 4:30 p.m. and the series finale being at 12 p.m. on Sunday. Those with tickets to Saturday's game will be able to enter Friday's games with their original ticket.
The Red Raiders are coming off a win over Abilene Christian last night and a sweep over Kansas last weekend. The Utes won their series against Houston last weekend.

- The Red Raiders earned their second Big 12 series sweep of the season last weekend as they defeated Kansas by a combined score of 27-4. The bats came alive, and the pitching did what it has done all season as Tech improved to a program-best 8-1 in Big 12 play over its first nine games.
- NiJaree Canady gave her hometown fans everything they expected and more in her return to Kansas. The Topeka native threw a no-hitter in first outing and then tied her season high in strikeouts with 14 in second outing. She finished the weekend with a state line impressive enough to earn D1Softball Pitcher of the Week honors. Canady posted 12.0 IP, with 26 SO, allowing just 3 H and 1 ER.
- Demi Elder returned to action in full capacity last weekend, starting every game in left field and making a huge impact with her bat. The senior hit .444 with a home run and drove in four runs while slugging .889.
- Lauren Allred had another monster week at the plate for the Red Raiders. The sophomore hit .400, homering in all three games and led the team with six RBI and slugging 1.300. Allred averaged just over one base per at-bat, as she had 12 at-bats and 13 total bases.
- The Utes lead the series 4-3 all time.
- Utah has won the last four meetings.
- This will be the first time a team is home or away - all other games have been neutral.
