The Red Raiders host their first outdoor meet of the year
LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech track and field team is set to host their first outdoor meet of the year Thursday morning and afternoon at the Fuller Track and Field Complex.
The Masked Rider Open was originally slated for Friday and Saturday but due to impending weather this weekend, it has turned into a one-day meet.

Last Time Out
The Red Raiders competed in the 97th annual Texas Relays last week from Thursday-Saturday. One of the highlights of the meet was redshirt freshman Amori Pierson breaking the Tech women's shot put record with a throw of 17.84m (58-4 ¾).

Over in the hurdles, the men's team produced two top-4 110m hurdlers in the country with Antoine Andrews and Sincere Rhea. Andrews posted a time of 13.28 (2.3w), while Rhea went 13.48 (2.3w).
In the Know
The meet will begin with the throws portion starting with the javelin at 10:30 a.m., which will then follow a rolling schedule for discus, and shot put. The running events will begin at 12:30 p.m. beginning with the 3000m steeplechase.

The Red Raiders will travel to Texas A&M for the 44 Farms Team Invitational next Friday and Saturday.
