The Red Raiders hosted their first outdoor meet of the year
LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech track and field team wrapped up its one-day home meet Thursday evening at the Fuller Track and Field Complex.

The Masked Rider Open was originally slated for this Friday and Saturday but due to impending weather this weekend, it turned into a one-day meet today.
Fanny Arendt, an 800m runner, competed in the 400m today as she won the open event with a new PB time of 54.25. Meanwhile, a few long distance runners on the men's and women's side went down to the 1500m this afternoon. Titus Kimaru won on the men's side going 3:46.58. Brenda Kibor led the women with a time of 4:37.91

After breaking the women's shot put record last week, Amori Pierson won today's event throwing 16.15m (53-0). Trey Wilson won the men's competition throwing 18.83m (61-9 ½). Lily Mather ran the 5k for the first time in her collegiate career winning the event with a time of 17:33.92.
Shelby Frank won the women's discus throwing 59.47m (195-1), No. 9 all-time for Tech. She also won the hammer throw with a mark of 62.44m (204-10), No. 3 all-time for Tech.

The Red Raiders will travel to Texas A&M for the 44 Farms Team Invitational next Friday and Saturday.
