
Tech wraps up first outdoor weekend

The Red Raiders competed at ACU and TCU to open the outdoor season
FORT WORTH, Texas – The Texas Tech track and field team wrapped up the first week of the outdoor season competing in Fort Worth at the TCU Alumni Invite and in Abilene at the 11th-annual Wes Kittley Invite Saturday afternoon.
Throws and pole vault competed at TCU, while a limited number of distance and sprinters competed at ACU.
Amori Pierson led the women's shot put crew coming in first with a new PB of 16.45m (53-11 ¾). On the men's side, Trey Wilson III won the men's competition throwing 18.70m (61-4 ¼).
Olivia Cade placed second in the pole vault clearing 4.05m (13-3 ½).
In Abilene, Tech collected wins in the 100m, and 110m hurdles. Mario Paul led the way for the men at 13.99 (3.3w), while Tonie-Ann Forbes clocked in at 13.07 (2.8w). Olayyinka Olajide won the 200m with a time of 23.35 (2.5w).
