Dickinson attempted to break the school record by one centimeter
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The Texas Tech track and field team completed day one of the New Mexico Collegiate Classic Friday evening at the Albuquerque Convention Center.

Dickinson and Olivia Cade registered new lifetime bests in the pole vault Friday evening. Dickinson was the final athlete competing in the facility as she went for a new school record. Her final clearance of 4.37m (14-4) tied her for No. 2 in school history. She bowed out of the competition trying to clear 4.41m (14-5 ½), which would've been a new Tech record by one centimeter. Cade on the other hand, bowed out of the vault with a mark of 4.27m (14-0).
The women's weight throw today featured three throwers in the top-8 of the country with Cal's Giovanna Meeks at No. 1, followed by Shelby Frank at No. 2 and Illinois' Phethisang Makhethe No. 8. Frank finished the competition third with a mark of 21.57m (70-9 ¼). Meanwhile, on the men's side, Konner Wood secured a new PB for a second-straight week as he placed second with a heave of 21.90m (71-10 ¼).
Over in the women's high jump, the competition featured a pair of top-3 national leaders in Temitope Adeshina (No. 2) and Illinois' Rose Yeboah (No. 3).
The men's 200m invitational saw Shawn Brown finish third (21.62), while over in the men's high jump, Bradford Jennings took home third, clearing a new PB height of 2.18m (7-1 ¾).
Temitope Adeshina won the women's high jump competition clearing 1.92m (6-3 ½), just one centimeter shy of her season best.
