It’s the first time this season the Red Raiders hit the road
LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech track and field team will compete in the New Mexico Collegiate Classic Friday and Saturday at the Albuquerque Convention Center.

Last Time Out
The Red Raiders hosted the Stan Scott Invite and Multis meet last weekend at home. The meet was highlighted by Fanny Arendt lowering her school 800m record for a second-straight week, while the distance runners for Tech opened their indoor season. Ernest Cheruiyot won the men's 3k with a time of 7:58.09.
Rankings
In week two of the USTFCCCA rankings released by the organization Tuesday morning, the Tech women slid one spot to No. 3, while the men's side moved from No. 3 to No. 7.
In The Know
A majority of Red Raiders from each event – minus middle distance/distance – will be represented this weekend. Tech travels a strong group of sprinters/hurdlers including Antoine Andrews (NCAA No. 2 60mH) and Malachi Snow (NCAA No. 2 60mH).
Shelby Frank sits No. 2 this season in the NCAA weight throw and is slated to go this weekend. Shaemar Uter is expected to make his debut in the 400 this weekend. Uter finished sixth last year at the NCAA meet and fourth as part of the 4x400 team.

Following this meet, the Red Raiders will have one regular season mete left next weekend – Jarvis Scott Open – before taking one week off in preparation for the 2025 Big 12 Indoor Championships.
