LUBBOCK, Texas – Week eight of the NFL season concluded with a Monday Night Football matchup between two Red Raider alumni as Patrick Mahomes II and the Kansas City Chiefs upended the Washington Commanders, 28-7. Second-year defensive back Tyler Owens picked up his first career start for the Commanders in the primetime contest, who has carved out a consistent role with the special teams unit, leading up to his breakthrough start on MNF.

ARIZONA CARDINALSÂ (Bye week)
S Dadrion Taylor-Demerson (2019-23): The Arizona Cardinals were on a bye this week. They return to action next week on the road for a Monday Night matchup against the Dallas Cowboys.
RB Tahj Brooks (2020-24):Â Brooks saw 12 snaps on special teams, contributing one tackle on a punt coverage.Â
OL Terence Steele (2016-19):Â Steele played each snap for the seventh time this season in the road loss to the Denver Broncos.Â
QB Patrick Mahomes II (2014-16): After struggling in the first quarter, Mahomes and the Chiefs tied the game going into halftime, 7-7, before scoring 21 unanswered points in the second half en route to the Sunday Night Football victory. Mahomes has thrown at least three touchdown passes in each of the last three games.
DE Tyree Wilson (2020-22): The Las Vegas Raiders were on a bye this week. They return to action this weekend, hosting the Jacksonville Jaguars.Â
LB Jordyn Brooks (2016-19):Â Brooks led the Dolphins in tackles with 10 stops (seven solo), including one sack for a five-yard loss as the Dolphins pulled off the upset in Atlanta. Brooks remains the NFL's leading tackle with 85. His 53 solo tackles are 13 more than the next player. His three Tackles for loss on Sunday were a game-high.
P Austin McNamara (2020-23):Â McNamara booted two punts for a net average of 30.5 yards. His longest of the afternoon was 43 yards.
DB Tyler Owens (2022-23): Owens earned his first career NFL start on Monday Night Football. He finished the game with three tackles (two solo), playing about 36 percent of the snaps.
