
Tech set for Red Raider Invite

LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech track and field team hosts its second meet of the season beginning Friday morning at the Sports Performance Center. The Red Raider Invite is a one-day meet.

The Red Raiders opened the 2024 indoor season hosting the eighth-annual Corky Classic. Highlights included Antoine Andrews tying the school record of 7.52 in the 60m hurdles, while newcomer Malachi Snow moved to second on the list (7.54). In the pole vault, Sean Gribble cleared 18 feet for the first time in his career.

The women's side saw the debut of All-American weight thrower Shelby Frank. Over in the high jump, Temitope Adeshina and Evelyn Lavielle put themselves in the NCAA top-5 list as Adeshina cleared 1.89m (6-2 ¼) to go to No. 3, while Lavielle cleared 1.86m (6-1 ¼) for No. 5.
What to Watch For
2024 NCAA indoor triple jump Champion Ruta Lasmane is expected to make her season debut. She capped off her 2024 season placing eighth outdoors and represented her country of Lativa in the Paris Olympics.
